Lynne Hummell

Board Member and Director of Community Relations

A native South Carolinian, Lynne Cope Hummell was first intrigued by the theatre as a freshman in high school. After moving to Hilton Head Island in 1984, she found her people at the Community Playhouse. She became a steadfast volunteer with the theatre, and also served on boards and committees for a number of other nonprofit organizations. In the early 2000s, as director of development for Island School Council for the Arts, she was responsible for its four annual fundraising events, including An Evening of the Arts.

Later, with her artist husband and two sons, she was involved with Main Street Youth Theatre, serving on the board of directors as well as appearing in two plays. More recently, she has been cast in shows at May River Theatre.

As a long-time (and recently retired) journalist and editor, Lynne made it a priority to promote and support the community’s artistic endeavors of all kinds via print media.

Lynne is eager to serve on the board of Sea Glass Stage Company to help build interest, appreciation and support of the performing arts.

Margaret Crenshaw

Maggie was raised on Hilton Head Island. She has a BFA in Theatre from Auburn University and has worked professionally as an actress, singer, dancer, director, and production stage manager in dozens of shows throughout the course of her career. Her first passion for the arts was her love of dance and gymnastics. At age 8, the Alvin Ailey dance company came to the island and performed for the area’s schools. So inspired by the art form, she knew she had to be on that stage, telling stories of the people. This led to performing in youth theatre at the old Hilton Head Playhouse, the island’s first community theatre, and then to further study theatre in college. Post Auburn, Maggie served as the Production Manager of the Hilton Head Playhouse, simultaneously performing in the shows.

Maggie is a realtor with the Kiser Jetton Group, brokered by EXP Realty. She serves as President of the Hilton Head Prep School Alumni Association, is a member of Women in Philanthropy and Women in Real Estate. Monthly, she writes a column for CH2 Magazine about the Island’s history and development. Weekly, she is co-host of “Mondays with Maggie” alongside local TV personality and Host of Eat It and Like It, Jesse Blanco, in which they discuss the island’s food scene. Maggie has a daughter, Ellery, 27 who is her favorite child.

Serving as a board member for Sea Glass Stage Company is an honor. Bringing the arts to the community and telling the stories of those whose stories need to be told, is a gift and she is grateful for being here.
